Meet Our Doctors

Dr. Jason Troutman (D.D.S.)

Dr. Jason Troutman is a Mebane, North Carolina native. He attended E.M. Yoder Elementary and Woodlawn Middle School, and graduated from Eastern Alamance High School in 1998. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He graduated with his Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 2006 from the UNC School of Dentistry. His senior year of dental school, Dr. Troutman was awarded the Monte G. Miska award for excellence in Prosthodontics, the esthetic restoration and replacement of teeth. He was also requested by the head doctor of the Prosthodontics department to assist in teaching the Advanced Prosthodontics course to juniors of the dental school.

After graduating dental school, Dr. Troutman began private practice here in Mebane. He was very eager to begin his practice beside his father, who has been practicing here for over 35 years. He built his new office in 2007 in order to provide both a comfortable and relaxing environment while incorporating the newest dental technologies for his patients to receive the best dental care possible. Dr. Troutman not only works in private practice, but also volunteers with Missions of Mercy Dental Clinic and Give Kids A Smile. Dr. Troutman is currently serving his second term as the President of the Alamance-Caswell dental society. He is a member of the North Carolina Dental Society, the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the Organization of Safety and Asepsis Prevention.
Dr. Troutman has been happily married to Jamie since 2002. They have three boys—Caden, Casey, and Colton—and one daughter, Zaylee. They are active members of their church and enjoy spending time together on their farm here in Mebane. In his spare time, Dr. Troutman also enjoys laps at Virginia International Raceway, ATVing, and anything Carolina Blue!!

Dr. Alison Cole (D.M.D.)

Dr. Alison Cole completed her BS from Duke University in 2002. She thoroughly enjoyed her time at Duke while serving as the captain of the varsity women's soccer team her junior and senior year. She returned home to Charleston to attend the Medical University of South Carolina College of Dental Medicine, where she was awarded honors such as The American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry Award and The Dentsply Fixed Prosthodontics Award. Dr. Cole was named the 2007 Hinman Scholar and 2007 Presidential Scholar and inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honorary Dental Society in 2008. She completed her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree as first honor graduate in 2008 and is currently a member of the American Dental Association, North Carolina Dental Association, Academy of General Dentists, and Triangle Study Club. She is enjoying being back in North Carolina, spending time with her husband, daughter, and two bloodhounds!

Dr. Steve Troutman (D.D.S.)
Dr. Steven E. “Steve” Troutman was born and raised in China Grove, NC. He attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as a Morehead Scholar, receiving a BS Dentistry in 1970 and a Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1973 from the UNC School of Dentistry. While in dental school, he was a Pfeiffer Fellow, a dental research fellowship.

Dr. Troutman was inducted into the Honorary Fraternity, Omicron Kappa Upsilon, at graduation. He instructed dental students on the clinic floor at the UNC Dental School for two years and began his practice July 23, 1973 in Mebane, NC. Dr. Steve was a Kiwanis Club member for over 25 years and held offices in the club, including president.

He is a member of the American Dental Association, N.C. Dental Association, Third District Association, and the local Alamance Caswell Dental Society where he served as president for a term.
Dr. Troutman has been happily married to Gayle Wrenn for over 34 years and has three grown children and three grandchildren. They are all an important and joyous part of his life. He enjoys the practice of dentistry in Mebane, his loyal and appreciative patients, and time at continuing education to keep abreast of new technology, including implant restoration. Although he is now retired, he does help us out from time to time. During his spare time, he enjoys family at church, the lake, the beach, and "Carolina" sports.
